Championship Successes

Lima storms to victory in the Portuguese National Championships

The club’s star sprinter David Lima won the 200m Portuguese National Championships in Vagos on Saturday 10th June in a club record time of 20.47s, having also won his heat in a more modest 20.60s. However this in agonisingly just 0.02s over the qualifying time required for this year’s World Championships in London in August but it wouldn’t have been accepted by officialdom because the wind speed was over the accepted limit of 2m/sec. David rounded off an excellent weekend by also coming second in the final of the 100m in another club record of 10.23s, having won his heat in 10,24s.
