BRAT Stars Shine as Team Birmingham Sweeps Regional Sportshall Finals!

It was a day of absolute dominance at the West Midlands Regional Sportshall Finals, as Team Birmingham achieved a spectacular clean sweep, winning every single age group across both the boys’ and girls’ categories!

The event, held at the North Solihull Sports Centre on February 22nd, 2026, saw the best young athletes from across the region battle it out. We are incredibly proud that 11 of our very own BRAT athletes were selected to pull on the black vest for Birmingham. Not only did they contribute heavily to the overarching team success, but they also delivered some phenomenal individual performances.

Here is a look at how our BRAT representatives fared:

U11s: Parekh Finds the Target

Our youngest athletes stepped up to the regional stage with immense confidence, helping both the U11 Boys and Girls to team victories.

  • Leo Parekh had a fantastic day in the field, taking home 1st place in the Target Throw with a winning score of 19. He backed that up with a brilliant 3rd place finish in the Standing Triple Jump, leaping 5.38m.
  • Eloise Newman showed her power in the Chest Push, securing 4th place with a strong throw of 6.00m. She also stepped up to represent the team in the Balance Test.

U13s: Demanya Dominates the Shot

The U13s were on fire across the track, jumps, and throws, contributing massive points to Birmingham’s winning tallies.

  • Adrian Demanya produced one of the standout performances of the day in the Shot Put, absolutely dominating the field to take 1st place with a massive throw of 10.03m!
  • Elliot Jones showed his class in the jumps, securing 3rd place in the Standing Triple Jump with a distance of 6.59m.
  • Darcy McDaid brought her trademark agility to the gym, taking a joint 2nd place in the Speed Bounce with a rapid 77 bounces.
  • Rose Ricardo showed her versatility, picking up 3rd place in the Shot Put with a distance of 8.23m. She also tested her endurance with a 7th place finish in the gruelling 6-Lap race.+1
  • Tiffany Campbell was consistently excellent, narrowly missing the podium with two 4th place finishes. She clocked a quick 52.4s in the 4-Lap race and leaped 5.85m in the Standing Triple Jump.

U15s: Hepzibah Misses Overall Gold by a Single Point

The U15 competition features an individual points tally alongside the team scores, and our BRAT athletes proved they are among the absolute best all-rounders in the West Midlands.

  • Hepzibah Emmanuel Koko had an unbelievable competition, finishing 2nd overall in the individual standings with 137 points—missing out on the gold medal by just a single point! Her silver medal finish was powered by two event wins, taking 1st place in the Shot Put with 9.46m and joint 1st place in the Vertical Jump with 56cm.
  • Muayyad Mohamed also secured a top-10 individual finish, placing 6th overall with 130 points. His day was highlighted by a blistering run in the 4-Lap Time Trial to take 1st place in 46.0s , along with a 3rd place finish in the Standing Triple Jump with a leap of 7.34m.
  • Dominic Thulani Francis G joined them in the overall top 10, finishing 10th with 122 points. He showed serious speed to take 2nd place in the 2-Lap Time Trial in 21.8s and placed 4th in the Standing Long Jump with 2.44m.

A massive congratulations to all 11 BRAT athletes who represented the club and the city so brilliantly. You have done yourselves, your coaches, and your club incredibly proud. Bring on the National Finals! 🔴
