In our very first season competing in the Youth Development League, BRAT made an unbelievable statement by winning Match 1 with an incredible 579 points — finishing well clear at the top of the table!
This was more than just a win. It showed the strength, depth, teamwork, and future of BRAT athletics.
Across every age group, our athletes delivered outstanding performances on the track and in the field, with athletes stepping up in both scoring and non-scoring events to contribute valuable points for the club.
Some standout performances included:
Dominic Francis-Gordon dominating the U16 Boys sprints, winning both the 100m (11.50) and 200m (23.20).
Adrian Demanya produced one of the top performances of the entire match, winning the U14 Boys Shot with 11.87m, alongside victories in Discus and Hammer.
Charlie Keenan won the U14 Boys Javelin with a huge 30.02m throw.
Darcy McDaid impressed across multiple events, winning the U14 Girls Javelin and hurdles.
Alisia Scarlett Thomas took victory in the U16 Girls hurdles, while BRAT athletes also secured wins in relays across the age groups.
Our relay squads were outstanding throughout the day, showing fantastic teamwork and club spirit.
The day became even more special with an incredible number of new club records being broken across multiple age groups and events — showing just how strong the future of BRAT athletics really is.
What made the result even more special was the number of athletes involved. One of the biggest positives of this league format is being able to give more athletes the opportunity to compete, including non-scoring athletes gaining valuable experience for the future.
The atmosphere all day was incredible, with athletes supporting one another from the first event until the final relay. Coaches, officials, volunteers, and parents all played a huge part in making the day such a success.
To finish our very first match at the top of the table is something everybody connected with BRAT should be proud of. Now let’s keep the momentum going for the final two league matches and push for promotion into the Premier League.
This is only the beginning…

Well done Team BRAT!
