Midland 6 and 12 Stage Road Relays and Junior 5km Road Champs
Saturday saw a large BRAT turnout in Sutton Park for the Midland 6 and 12 Stage Road Relays and Junior 5km Road Champs. Ages ranged from under 13’s to over-65’s showcasing the range of membership we have. The spring weather was at it’s liveliest with four seasons in one day but that did not dampen the enthusiasm of everyone taking part. First up were the Junior 5km races which score on a cross country basis from the first three athletes across the line in each age group. BRAT were well represented across the age groups bagging silverware in the U13 boys –Ollie Knight 3rd Individual and backed up by Ben Eden and Jospeh Baker scooped the team silver medal as well. BRAT Warm-Up Meeting 17th March
Despite the looming threat of poor weather, the BRAT Club Track and Field Internal Season Warm-up Meeting unfolded as a great success. The dedication and spirit of the young athletes and everyone else who participated, demonstrated their passion and commitment for the sport regardless of the conditions. The enthusiasm of the BRAT club youngsters and Seniors lit up the University track, from the adrenaline-fuelled sprints to the energetic leaps in the long jump, high jump, javelin, discus and hammer throws, every moment was charged with passion, determination and resilience. None of this would have been possible without the selfless efforts of the small army who worked behind the scenes for many weeks to organise and ensure the smooth running of this event. Bea Pavlovic Note From the Field Referee:Thanks to all Officials and helpers who made this event happen despite the atrocious conditions on the infield. Special thanks to…

Ladies XC League Season
Midland XC League 2021-22 The women have bounced back from the Covid-19 XC drought with a brilliant set of performances across the four Midland XC League races this season. It has been great to see the team back in action on the hills (of which there were many) and mud (very much saved till the end). We’ve welcomed a couple of new members, who seemed to have enjoyed themselves enough to sign up for more! The women raced at some exciting venues this year with the first race at Betley Court Farm, followed by the tough Stratford course and iconic hills of Burton Dassett. The season finished at the trusty Leamington, where they were finally joined by the BRAT men which resulted in some much needed support on the course. Despite the infamous ditch being deemed unsafe, an alternative ditch was soon sought and the detour provided some serious mud…
Ladies National XC
National XC Championships 2022 The National XC Championships is probably the most iconic cross country race going, especially when it is held at the famous Parliament Hill, London. With the cancelled race in 2021, there was a genuine excitement amongst club runners up and down the country. BRAT had just about managed to scrape a team, which sadly got thwarted by Covid-19 the week before. The women were sadly missing Eloise Lee, who is no stranger to the joys of racing at Parliament Hill, so they decided they had to make the most of it for her and just enjoy the muddy course. Arriving at the National is genuinely like no other race, tents littering the hillside. With this year’s mud, there was an air of ‘Glastonbury’ about the place to add to the excitement. After watching several junior races, and concluding that it was probably going to be the…
