It was a warm and pleasant evening on 12th May for the 2nd Birmingham University Open of the year which saw 7 BRATS in action. Four of the athletes were in the 5000m, which saw SEN Molly Browne run a SB of 17.48.42, V40 Dan Robinson a SB of 15.45.81, V35 Abayomi Adedimeji a SB of 17.04.87 and SEN William McKemey a PB of 16.08.25
The 5th athlete running was SEN Lewis Carr who ran a PB in the 800m in a time of 2.01.39
2 Juniors were also present, with U15 Lily Smith jumping a SB of 5.03m in the Long Jump (just 1 cm off of her PB) and U15 Jamie Callaghan who threw the discus 26.55m and secured a PB in the shot with a throw of 9.25m
The next Birmingham University Open is 9th June, and hopefully more BRATS will be able to grab themselves a much sought over place.
