6th June seems to have been a busy one in the BRAT calendar – the Hilly 100, the Leeds Triathlon and the Cheltenham Young Athletes Open. The Cheltenham event is for athletes aged at least 9 and has events for U10’s, U12’s and U14’s, including 60m, 100m, 600m, 800m, Long Jump, Howler, Shot, Long Jump and High Jump. The young BRATs were out in force, and many achieved podium finishes.
Highlights include the U10 Long Jump which had BRAT finishing 1st with Erin Colclough who jumped 3.35, 2nd with sister Josephine with a jump of 3.27 and 3rd with Amber Stevens who jumped 3.05 – well done girls, a complete BRAT podium! Josephine also came 1st in the 600m in a time of 02:09, with Amber coming 3rd in a time of 02:10.
U12 Josh Taylor was 1st in the 1200m in a time of 04:23. U14 Evie Rendell was 1st in the Long Jump with a jump of 4m and the shot with a throw of 7.95m. Also participating in the shot was newbie U14 Robert Lee who finished 3rd with a throw of 8.38m. Another newbie was U12 Leanna Rendell who cam 1st on the howler with a throw of 22.52m
