Second League Match Report

Before a quick run through of the second league meeting of the season, there is some good news to report regarding the first match – we won!

After all the officials points had been taken into account BRAT overhauled Birchfield to claim top spot – well done to all BRAT officials.

The second meeting was however always going to be a tougher affair for us as we lost so many female athletes who were either injured or having to isolate as they had been sent home from school. We therefore travelled to Solihull with just seven senior women.

Thankfully we were able to put out a very strong men’s team – who came out on top on the day but the inevitable lack of female entries meant that overall we could only manage third out of the five teams.

There were however, a number of BRAT winners; A double for Alexander Clegg in the A Shot and A Javelin, Josh Hale won the 400 A race, Adam Peacock the 800 A, Khari Mitchell-Lewis 110 hurdles A, Abayomi Adedimeji 5000 B, Bhavan Aulakh High jump B and saving the women’s team Lucie Tait-Harris and Grace Allen picking up a fantastic A and B win in the 5000m.

We also managed to grab first place in both the men’s relays 4 x 100 (Mitchell-Lewis, Colclough, Harvey, Hindle) and 4 x 400m (Stolberg, Colclough, Preece, Hindle).

Making their BRAT track debuts were Anya Hulusi and Joe Preece who both performed splendidly.

Hopefully by August 15th all those who were isolating will be allowed out with no others taking their place!
