Club member, James Drakeford, currently working in Taiwan, has been making the most of his UK winter training fitness with a number of solid performances both on the road and off-road.
His most recent performance is winning a half-marathon, in his hometown of Kaohsiung, in a time of 1:16:48, in “sweltering conditions” on the 23rd April 2023.
Prior to this, he finished 3rd in the Asia Pacific Trail Championships, over 21km. James was, however, disqualified from the rankings because he swapped from the 35km to the 21km race, despite notifying officials of his change prior to the race. James has still qualified for the World Championships.
